From March 30th to 31st, the 2025 3rd Synthetic Biology Industry Expo (SBC2025) was successfully held at the Nanjing Yangtze River International Conference Center. On March 30th, He Lixiong, Vice President of TIANS Group and Chairman of the Synthetic Biology and Dry Sugar Production Division, gave a detailed sharing on the theme of "Design of Synthetic Biology Industrialization Fermentation Plants" at the thematic forum "Synthetic Biology Process Development and Commercial Production".

First of all, he systematically elaborated on the path of in-depth integration of synthetic biology and fermentation engineering, and stated that synthetic biology, through the combination of "bottom-up" rational design and "top-down" pragmatism, and the use of DBTL cycles to build cell factories, is promoting the transformation of traditional fermentation from empirical art to scientific engineering. Facing the industrialization process, He Lixiong also put forward the "technology + market dual-drive" strategy, saying that synthetic biology enterprises need to be alert to the risk of disconnection between technology and market demand in the industrialization process to ensure commercial value and sustainable development.

Subsequently, he elaborated in detail from five aspects: connotative general layout planning, lean process design, intelligent process control, green energy management, and resource-based treatment of three wastes. At the design level, 3D collaborative design is used to optimize the plant layout, and modular continuous manufacturing processes are adopted to improve production efficiency; in terms of intelligent control, intelligent factory construction is realized through information management systems; in the aspect of green manufacturing, energy-saving equipment such as TIANS's intelligent instantaneous continuous sterilizer and intelligent automatic cleaning machine significantly save energy and realize green and intelligent manufacturing.

Wisdom in Innovation: Process Support Empowering Technology Implementation

In recent years, TIANS has deeply cultivated the front-end technology and full-process service model of the synthetic biology industry, creating a T-EPC full-process service for synthetic biology industrialization covering from process technology, pilot-scale amplification, process simulation and optimization, process package compilation, engineering consulting and design, automation and informatization, intelligent equipment to engineering construction and operation and maintenance.
