From April 12th to 13th, the 2024 Second Synthetic Biology Industry Expo (SBC2024), guided by the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Life and Health Industry Development Management Office and the Chinese Society for Microbiology, and co-hosted by East China University of Science and Technology, Bio-Insight, BioValley, etc., was successfully held at the Nanjing Yangtze River International Conference Center. With the theme of "Constructing to Understand, Constructing to Apply", the conference gathered 6 academicians, more than 100 synthetic biology experts and over 3,000 industry peers to discuss the new blueprint for the future of synthetic biology. On April 13th, at the special forum on fermentation technology, Li Xiangke, Chief Engineer of TIANS Group's Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering Design Company, delivered a cutting-edge sharing with the theme "From Synthetic Biology Laboratory to Green Bio-Manufacturing Factory: Making Dreams Come True".
First of all, he comprehensively introduced the future development direction of the bio-manufacturing industry focusing on the connotation, policy progress and industrialization challenges of synthetic biology, and pointed out that the key to industrialized production is to carry out reasonable calculation and design of fermenters and fermentation processes, optimize process integration and large-scale production technology in the scaling-up process, improve fermentation levels and reduce production costs.
