Recently, the Hebei Engineering Survey, Design and Consulting Association announced the results of the 2024 Hebei Provincial Engineering Survey and Design Project Achievement Recognition. The Phase I Project of Industrialization of 25,000 Tons/Year Bio-degradable New Material PHA designed by TIANS Group for Jiangsu Lansu Biomaterials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Lansu PHA Project") was recognized as a first-class achievement in Hebei Provincial Engineering Design Projects.

Lansu PHA Project wins first-class achievement in Hebei Provincial Engineering Design Projects

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beijing Bluepha Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Lansu Biomaterials Co., Ltd. is the third company in the world and the first in China to significantly reduce the cost of PHA to a level that allows large-scale sales. The Lansu PHA Project is located at Zhongshan Sixth Road, Coastal Industrial Park, Jiangsu Binhai Economic Development Zone, Binhai County, Yancheng City, covering an area of 130 acres, with a total investment of 1.25 billion RMB and an annual PHA production capacity of 25,000 tons.

As the general contracting service provider of the project, TIANS Group is fully responsible for the whole-process services such as early process optimization, consulting and design, engineering construction, and commissioning and test run. As a result, the project took only 7 months from commencement to test run, which fully demonstrates TIANS's cutting-edge process technology level and efficient project execution capability in the field of synthetic biology, and also reflects TIANS's determination to accelerate environmental sustainable development and build a green and intelligent industrial future.

Green and Intelligent, Building an Efficient Factory

The Lansu PHA Project integrated green and lean design concepts from the very beginning of its design. By optimizing the process flow and selecting high-efficiency and energy-saving equipment, it helps to achieve low energy consumption and low emissions in the production process. At the same time, TIANS's design team, through careful layout, reasonably planned the production workshop, warehouse and supporting auxiliary building units, which effectively reduced the distance and time of material handling, and significantly shortened the length of pipelines and the loss during transportation.

During the project construction, TIANS's design team also made full use of BIM technology. Through precise modeling, 3D visual display of the project was realized, providing accurate guidance for construction. The rich and detailed data analysis function of BIM technology provided strong support for subsequent project management and shortening the construction period.

Intuitively Visible, Building a Digital Future

As an automation and information engineering expert who understands processes, TIANS Group adopted a fully automated fermentation solution in this project, realizing multiple operations such as automatic sterilization in the fermentation process, continuous material sterilization, fully automatic control of the inoculation station, and control of the fermentation and culture process, which reduced errors possibly caused by manual operations and saved nearly 20% of labor costs. In addition, an intelligent digital dashboard system was introduced to realize real-time monitoring and data analysis of the production process. Through intuitive display on the large screen, key indicators such as production progress, energy consumption, and equipment status are clear at a glance, providing managers with quick, accurate, and direct decision-making basis.

As an engineering design group empowering the industrialization of new technologies, TIANS's design team can organically integrate into the whole process of project construction from multiple aspects such as process optimization, energy conservation and consumption reduction, intelligent control, construction implementation, and cost control. Integrating future needs into the present to make every design more future-oriented, TIANS will continue to take this as its goal to promote the rapid development of synthetic biology, fine chemicals, pharmaceutical and health industries.
