Zhou Lanxia stated that TIANS Group initiated the Youth Designers 50 Forum with the aim of building a technical exchange platform with industry transformative power and technological innovation capabilities for young designers in the industry. As China's new industrialization and science and technology industries continue to advance, enterprises have invariably put forward higher requirements for industrial aesthetics. This session of the Youth Designers 50 Forum focuses on "industrial aesthetics", which will help everyone break the traditional impression of industrial spaces and promote the design industry towards a more innovative and sustainable beautiful future.

Sparking Ideas and Broadening Aesthetic Vision

Li Wei, Chief Architect of the Institute of Building Environment and Energy at the China Academy of Building Research, first gave a keynote speech titled "Architectural Design Empowers New Industry - Integration and Innovation of Aesthetics and Dual Carbon Goals". Starting with the policy and industry background, he pointed out that with the advancement from Industry 4.0 to 5.0 and the promotion of the national "dual carbon" strategy, green and low-carbon development has become the core direction for the development of industrial buildings. Subsequently, Teacher Li Wei conducted an in-depth analysis of the connotation and implementation path of zero-carbon parks, covering four major areas: energy structure transformation, green building technology, industrial structure optimization, and carbon sink management. He pointed out that industrial buildings should move towards a new stage where "manufacturing" and "aesthetics" are equally emphasized. Through design innovation and technological integration, a highly efficient, clean, intelligent industrial new ecosystem with humanistic care should be built.

Teacher An Chongyang, Deputy Director of the Architectural Department at the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Design Center of TIANS Group, delivered a keynote speech titled "Decoding the Aesthetic Genes in Industrial Architecture and General Layout Design through Practical Projects". Starting with the origin and development of industrial aesthetics, he pointed out that modern industrial architecture has evolved from being function-oriented to the fourth-generation industrial park model, which is deeply integrated with the city, culture, and environment. Subsequently, taking a biomedical project in Chengdu as an example, he elaborated on the design concept of the project in detail from the perspectives of project positioning, design ideas, general layout planning, and architectural design. He stated that the aesthetic empowerment of industrial architecture is not only reflected in the form, but also needs to achieve the organic unity of rationality and poetry, production and life through the order of the general layout, spatial experience, and material details.

Mr. Guo Jiandong, Director of the Architecture Office of the Pharmaceutical Engineering Institute of China Aviation Planning and Design Institute, shared relevant content on "Constructing New Dimensions in Industrial Architecture Planning and Design". He stated that the aesthetics of industrial architecture should return to the essence of "tectonics" — that is, the unity of architectural authenticity, structural logic, material expression, and cultural significance. Subsequently, using multiple practical cases, he vividly demonstrated how to refine design ideas from internal factors such as site conditions, functional requirements, spatial order, and corporate culture. He also advocated for industrial buildings to truly become "what they should be", showcasing harmony in order and conveying poetry in authenticity.

In recent years, AI has permeated the business processes of various industries from being a cutting-edge technology. This forum focuses on the in-depth connection between AI and industrial design, and invited Mr. Zhu Jianhua, founder of AiAi Jishe, to give a keynote speech titled "Practice and Exploration of Generative AI Painting in the Field of Architectural Design". Starting from the basic understanding of AI, he pointed out that technologies represented by diffusion models and Transformers are reshaping the logic of design generation, realizing a paradigm shift from "rule-driven" to "data-driven". Subsequently, Mr. Zhu Jianhua focused on demonstrating AI's capabilities in conceptual planning, precise beautification of renderings, general layout coloring, and partial repainting. He emphasized that AI has become an important assistant in enhancing the dimension of design information, optimizing communication efficiency, and replacing repetitive work. It can help designers break through boundaries, improve aesthetics and efficiency, and truly let design take wings of imagination.

Elite Dialogue: Sharing Wisdom Achievements

This forum specially set up two elite dialogue sessions: an industrial project architectural design exhibition and a discussion on real-scene cases. The industrial project architectural design exhibition gathered excellent works from more than 20 design institutes. The participating guests not only conducted extensive discussions based on the dialectical unity of industrial architectural design aesthetics and practical functions, but also carried out in-depth analyses focusing on several excellent design works.

In the real-case discussion section, each group of young designers engaged in ideological exchanges on a classic design proposition, focusing on three major dimensions: overall site planning, architectural design, and process integration.

Finally, Group 5 won the unanimous approval of the experts from the organizing committee with their team's highly aesthetic thinking, thoughtful and meticulous considerations, and a practical design scheme. They were awarded the Elite Design Team of the 2025 · 7th Youth Designers 50 Forum. Ms. Cao Shengxi and Mr. Zhang Qi, experts from the Forum's Expert Committee, presented the honorary trophy to the winning team.
