From October 23rd to 24th, the "2025 · 18th TIANS Technology Forum" (hereinafter referred to as the Forum), co-hosted by the Organizing Committee of TIANS Technology Forum and TIANS Group, was grandly held at Zhongmao Haiyue Hotel in Shijiazhuang. With the theme of "Breakthrough and Transforming: Collaborating to Create a New Chapter in Fine Chemicals and Synthetic Biology Industries", the forum gathered nearly 300 well-known experts, scholars, researchers and enterprise representatives from home and abroad to attend a feast of ideas on science, technology and innovation.

Opening Speech: Jointly Drawing the Blueprint for Industrial Innovation

Dr. Chen Ping, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee of TIANS Technology Forum and Chief Technology Officer of TIANS, delivered a welcome speech. Dr. Chen Ping said that the current fine chemical and synthetic biology industries are in the "critical deep water zone" of transformation towards high-end, intelligent and green development. With the theme of "Breaking the Deadlock · Transforming", this forum aims to gather top forces from industry, academia and research, jointly explore the direction of industrial development, and expects to promote ideological collisions through the forum and transform them into actual driving forces for development.

In his speech, Mr. Yue Min, Chairman of Shenzhen Yanyi New Materials Co., Ltd., said that innovation should not stop at the laboratory, but must be transformed into industrial value. By sharing his experience in cooperating with TIANS to open up the path of technology industrialization, he stated that the forum is a collaborative accelerator that gathers the strength of industry, academia and research and breaks through the "last mile" of industrialization. He also looks forward to spawning more pragmatic cooperation to promote the steady and long-term development of the industry.

Ways to Break the Deadlock: Cutting-Edge Thinking and Implementation Paths

Dr. Li Yan, Director of the Material Chemical Engineering Department of the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Planning Institute and Director of the Chemical New Materials Industry Research Center, gave a keynote speech on "Innovative Development of the Fine Chemical Industry". He said that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China's fine chemical industry has achieved a leap from "large quantity" to "qualitative change", with technological breakthroughs and domestic substitution in some key fields. The "15th Five-Year Plan" is a critical stage for the industry to move from a large country to a powerful one. The focus of competition is shifting from cost to technology. Enterprises should focus on national strategies and market demands, continue to innovate in high-performance resins, special materials, green processes and other directions, and promote the upgrading of products to high-end and customized ones.

Professor Liu Dehua, Director of the Institute of Applied Chemistry, Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University, and Foreign Academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, gave a keynote speech on "Opportunities and Challenges of Biomanufacturing". He said that the shift from "mineral refining" to "biological refining" is a new milestone in the economic development of human society; it is a link that closely connects agriculture and industry, an important starting point for carbon neutrality; it is the material and energy foundation for the transformation of the economy from unsustainable development to sustainable development, and has a profound impact on society, economy, science and technology, and culture. He also focused on sharing the progress of biodiesel and PDO biological refining technology and industrialization.

Dr. Lin Jingxie (Jerry Lin), a well-known domestic expert in electronic chemicals technology and Chief Executive Officer of Zhongfu Applied Industrial Co., Ltd., gave a keynote speech on "Prospects of the Electronic Chemicals Industry". He said that the global semiconductor materials market continues to grow, and China has accounted for more than half of the share. He emphasized that photoresist and supporting reagents are key to the industrial chain, especially in anti-reflective layers, etching solutions and advanced packaging photoresist, where technical demand is urgent. However, at this stage, there are still challenges such as reliance on imports for core raw materials and imperfect verification systems. With the development of advanced packaging and display technologies, high film thickness, low stress and environmentally friendly photoresists have become the trend.

Mr. Wu Shaohua, Director and Chief Designer of TIANS Group, and a specially appointed expert of the Expert Database of China Exploration and Design Association, gave a keynote speech on "A New Model of Engineering Technology Empowering the Industrialization of New Technologies". He said that in the context of the development of new productive forces, facing industrialization bottlenecks such as low process maturity, difficulty in engineering scaling, and shortage of interdisciplinary talents, the enabling engineering technology model has significant advantages. Relying on the new three-in-one and three-driven operation model with process as the core, and the technology platform, business department platform and project command platform, TIANS ensures the successful commissioning of projects at one time, helps customers efficiently realize technology industrialization, and promotes the industry's transformation towards technology-driven and value-empowering.

Dr. Xia Jianye, Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor of Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Director of the Intelligent Biomanufacturing Center, pointed out in his report "Intelligent Prediction and Dynamic Optimization of Fermentation Processes" that to address the bottlenecks in traditional fermentation processes in biomanufacturing, such as reliance on experience and delayed optimization, his team has developed an intelligent solution. By building a multi-source data fusion platform and innovatively developing a Transformer time-series prediction model integrating domain knowledge, accurate prediction of key metabolic parameters has been achieved. This research marks that the fermentation process is moving from the "experience-driven" stage to the new stage of "data and model intelligent drive".

Mr. Su Zhenyu, a specially appointed safety expert of the Zhejiang Provincial Emergency Management Department and founder of Yunhan Technology, gave a keynote speech on "Strategies for Chemical Enterprises to Eliminate Catastrophic Accidents". He pointed out that the current domestic chemical industry still faces a severe safety situation, with widespread management failures in key links such as process hazard analysis, work permits and operating procedures. Enterprise managers should take preventing catastrophic accidents such as fire, explosion and casualties as their core responsibilities, systematically promote risk prevention and control from three aspects: technology, management and culture, and combine professional tools and methods to continuously promote enterprises to achieve the goal of zero casualties and ensure the integrity of factory operations.

Professor Sun Fuchun, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, gave a keynote speech on "The Transformation of Artificial Intelligence: Reshaping Industry, Society and the Future". He pointed out that artificial intelligence has become an important means to promote industrial and social transformation. However, while enjoying the dividends of technology, we also need to calmly deal with challenges such as changes in the employment structure, data privacy, and algorithmic bias. In the future, AI will, through cross-border integration with biology, materials and other fields, move towards human-centered intelligent enhancement, build a human-machine integration, trustworthy and controllable intelligent society, and provide key support for addressing global challenges.

Industry-University-Research Dialogue: Exploring New Paths for Industry-University-Research Collaboration

In the industry-university-research dialogue session, Dr. Chen Ping, Dr. Li Yan, Professor Liu Dehua, Dr. Xia Jianye, Mr. Su Zhenyu, and Dr. Ji Guanglin, Secretary-General of the Flow Battery Industry Alliance and Chairman of Xinglian Energy Storage (Sichuan) Technology Co., Ltd., conducted forward-looking discussions on the sustainable development of fine chemicals, key factors and future prospects of synthetic biology development, intelligent biological fermentation, building a safety management system for the entire life cycle of process equipment, and the advantages and development of the flow battery industry, injecting new ideological momentum into the high-quality development of the industry.
